VLCC Melia Face Wash for Normal to Oily Skin Review!

Hello everyone,
As a beauty blogger I have been constantly trying new face washes in the Indian market. I am not a cleanser fan as I have oily skin and may only work for me in winters. I have tried so many face washes recently and currently I have been testing VLCC products out of which I shall be reviewing the VLCC Melia Face Wash. Read my blog post to know more about this product and my experience of the same....

Price: Rs. 140/- for 80ml. Available online here and here

Key Ingredients
Extracts of Margosa Bark (Melia Azadirachta) 2%, Cucumber (Cucumis Sativus) 1%, Aloe Vera (Aloe Indica) 3%, Soap Pods (Acaia Concinna) 3%, Orange Peel (Citrus Aurantium) 1% & Sandalwood (Santalum Album) 0.5%, Chamomile Oil (Anthemis Nobilis) 0.3%, Honey 2%, Cleanser Base Q.S.

What does the brand say:
Melia (Margosa Bark Extract) is ideal for sensitive skin, oily skin or skin with acne and pimples because it has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. The extract has cooling and soothing effect on irritable skin. It also contains high level of vitamin C which helps blackheads, dryness, pigmentation, dullness, wrinkles and reverses sun damage. This facewash formulated with Melia extract helps clean skin without drying it. It offers protection against pimples as well as controls sebum secretion leaving your skin feeling sparkling fresh.

Packaging:
The face wash comes  in a semi opaque transparent tube which is white and green depicting the color of the face wash. All the information and instructions are printed at the back of the tube. It comes with a flip cap which shuts well hence it is travel friendly.

Melia essentially comes from the Margosa tree which is similar to Neem or may be it comes from the Neem family. I did check online but could not find any other information so please don't count me on this one. The face wash is gel based and green in color. It lathers well  and that is the best way to use the face wash. This face wash is strictly for those with oily to normal skin and this one suited well for me.It claims to control pimples and reduce blackheads. On regular use it can control pimples but only to a certain extent. But don't rely on face washes to control acne as you also need to take care of your diet, drink water and keep your face clean. As a face wash for oily skin it works best. It smells medicinal and a bit strong but I am ok with it as I know the ingredients mentioned are beneficial for my skin type. The skin does not get a stretchy or dry feeling post use and feels hydrated. In my opinion it is decent face wash for oily to normal skin beauties.

The Good:
Easily available online/offline and in VLCC outlets
Inexpensive
Natural Ingredients
Ideal for oily to normal skin
Controls acne and oiliness on the face
Makes the skin feel fresh
Travel friendly packaging

The not so Good:
Strong scent
Complete ingredient list missing
Not meant for dry skin
Cannot claim about blackheads

Rating: 4.2/5

VLCC Melia Face Wash is best suited for oily to normal skin. It does a decent job of keeping the skin oil free and refreshed. I recommend this to people with oily to normal skin ☺

  6. VLCC we don't have over here. This wash, oh yes, is great for oily combination skin whereas for my dry skin, I still prefer cleansing oil.
