Oriflame The One Illuskin Powder Review & Swatches

Hi everyone,
Today I shall be talking about the Oriflame The One Illuskin Powder's in Light, Medium and Dark which were a part of the November launches by Oriflame as a part of their The One collection which was launched in October 2014 by Bollywood Actress Huma Qureshi. I have reviewed their 6 eye shadows here, here and here. Do check them out as their formula is really good. Let us find out more about this compact powder in this post today...

Price: Rs. 649/- for 8g product, available on discount for Rs.489/- and can be purchased from any Oriflame consultant across India.

Ingredients:
TALC, TITANIUM DIOXIDE, ZEA MAYS STARCH, DIMETHICONE, ZINC STEARATE, PENTAERYTHRITYL TETRAISOSTEARATE, SILICA, OCTYLDODECYL STEAROYL STEARATE, PHENOXYETHANOL, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, SORBIC ACID, NYLON-12, HDI/TRIMETHYLOL HEXYLLACTONE CROSSPOLYMER, DIISOSTEARYL MALATE, DISODIUM EDTA, PARFUM, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499

Oriflame's the One collection range of make up is divided into 3 categories:
  •        Everyday Beauty
  •        High Impact
  •        Long Wear

What does Oriflame say about this product:
  • HaloLight Technology luminises skin for a natural finish.
  • Blurs imperfections and evens out skin tone.
  • Medium coverage for natural and flawless look.
  • Natural, luminous matte finish with SPF 12
  • Light weight ultra fine texture blends with skin without settling into fine lines.

The Illuskin Powder comes in 3 shades:
1. Light:
This is the lightest shade among the three and would suit those with  very fair skin tones. This is not a match for me as I would look washed out. It is more whitish as you may see in the pic. Ideal to be used for those trying the Illuskin foundation in Porcelain.

2. Medium
This is a bit more darker than the previous one. This one was a better match for me than Light. It has more yellow undertones and for me it would be ideal to use it under the Oriflame Illuskin Foundation in Nude Pink.

3. Dark
This is the darkest among all three and has more orangey and yellow undertones which is still subtle. This would suit medium to darker skin tones. Women of color may not find this suitable though as it would be light for them.

These powders are a part of the Everyday Beauty Collection. The packaging is purple in color which I loveee. It is light weight, sleek and classy hence you can easily carry it along with you for touch ups. It comes with a puff which is purple in color and square in shape. It also has a mirror which is a must have according to me for any compact. It is travel friendly and can be slipped into the smallest of clutches and purses.

The texture of the powder is light weight and smooth. It goes on smoothly on the skin and feels velvetty. It instantly brightens my face and covers minor imperfections but not complately. As mentioned by the brand the coverage is medium which is true. It will keep you oil free for 4 hours or so in extreme heat and humidity and longer in winters. I would use this powder over a BB cream or a foundation for full coverage. I really like that it has SPF 12 which makes it ideal for everyday wear.

The Good:
Available across India through an Oriflame consultant.
Sleek packaging in purple.
Comes with an inbuilt mirror and a unique purple sponge.
Smooth and silky texture.
Covers minor imperfections - medium coverage.
Keeps the face matte for 4 hours or so in humid weather.
Does not contain parabens.
Travel friendly.

The not so Good:
Shades are not enough especially for women of color.

Rating: 4.5/5

Oriflame The One Illuskin Powder is a lovely pressed powder ideal for everyday use. You could use it under your foundation, BB cream or even on its own. It has SPF 12 too. Do give this powder a try since it is on a discounted price now.

  4. SPF12 is definitely not enough for the humid and hot weather over here. So, for me, a sunblock has always been a must and it will the same with these beautiful shades. Not sure which will suit me.

  16. Generally I need a long-lasting powder to set my makeup so I ordered this one from Oriflame. It's a very smooth textured powder. It blends into the skin very easily, without leaving any chalky or cakey residues. The skin becomes flawless and imperfections such as light marks or enlarged pores get covered quite efficiently
