Avon Simply Pretty Lipstick in Darling Mauve - Review and Swatches
Today I shall be reviewing a lipstick which I truly love. If you have been following my blog from the very beginning you would know how crazy I am about lipsticks and lip products. I was a hoarder yes I admit that and there was nothing wrong it except for the fact I realized that it is pointless to hoard more than what I can use - Amen to that.. Lol... I prefer buying bright lipsticks now a days and over time I felt that it suits me a lot too. I am using this lipstick for a long time now and it is one of my favourite so I can easily tell you about this lipstick. I shall be talking about the Avon Simply Pretty Lipstick in Darling Mauve. What Avon says about the lipstick:

Enjoy full to medium color while giving your lips extra moisturizing care! Now with added moisturizing complex, a blend of nourishing natural ingredients, that protects lips while making it soft, supple and moisturized. Feels light and comfortable on lips.
I have reviewed many lipsticks from Avon in the past. The packaging in their initial days used to be black with a bit of sheen to it but then then they moved on to the hot pink packaging which is decent and ok in my opinion. All the information is printed on the label which covers the lipstick and once taken off is all gone however the expiry date is mentioned on the tube and the name of the lipstick at the bottom of the lipstick. The cap click locks, the body is sturdy and travel friendly.
The lipstick is a true blue based hot pink in my opinion. Unlike the name Mauve which is supposed to be a muted shade this one is quite bright. It does not contain shimmer nor is frosty in this case. It is creamy and moisturizing and glides smoothly on the lips.Of course your lips do have to be exfoliated and moisturized before application. The lipstick does not have a great scent to it I wish they do something about it but is ok, does not smell that bad. The lipstick is decently pigmented I do swipe it a couple of times for intensity as my lips are quite pigmented after years of lipstick application. The lipstick does last for atleast 3 to 4 hours on me after which it does leave a stain on the lips. Yes it does stain and I am ok with it because the tint looks pretty although some may have a problem with it. Since it is creamy it may have a tendency to get outside the lips you could use a lip liner of the same shade but I am ok with it. I am not a big lip liner fan but yes do use it sometimes. This may or not suit women of color as my friend did buy this and as she did not like it on her and passed it on to me. Well I loved it and have been using it ever since.
Moisturizing and creamy.
Decently pigmented and a nice bright color.
Leaves a tint behind on the lips after fading.
Sturdy and travel friendly packaging.
The not so Good:
Ingredient list missing.
Some may not like the stainning bit.
Has a tendency to go outside the lips.
Some may say availability but you can easily get it of ebay.
I truly love this shade and the lipstick and is one of my favourite from their Simply Pretty Range. It will definitely suit fair to medium skin tones as the shade instantly brightens up the face. For its affordability it is a must try for all who love this shade.
