Eyetex Dazzler Face Powder in Blush - Review, Swatches and FOTD
The summer has officially set in now in India. Its time to take extra care of your skin and use make up which mattifies the skin. Be it foundation or setting powder we all look for one that makes our face shine free and controls the oil too. During summers I sweat a lot on the face so I go for almost no make up or minimal make up on my face but sunscreen and a loose/compact powder with some bright lipstick is a staple and I am done. My today's review is a face powder I purchased some time back from Eyetex Dazzler which is Chennai based make up brand having amazing and affordable make up at throw away prices. It is called as Eyetex Dazzler Face Powder in the shade Blush for pale skin tone. Let us find out what I think of this powder...
Key Ingredients, Instructions and what the company says about their product:
Price: Rs.60/- I got it for Rs.48/- (Less than a dollar or a pound) :D
Shelf life: 24 months from the date of packaging.
For reference: My skin tone is fair to medium
Comes in 5 shades:
- Pink Dew
- Light Beige
The face powder comes in a giant plastic container white from the inside and the cover is copper brown in color. There are tiny holes inside for the powder to come out which is sealed by a sticker which once taken off won't sit back on it. Hence the powder needs to be kept in stationary position so that there is no wastage and spill over once you take the lid off. Somehow I have managed to keep the sticker on. Just like any other loose or mineral powder the packaging is on similar lines. It comes with a sponge applicator which is decent enough. Overall simple packaging and good enough for the price.I cannot say it is travel friendly though as there may be spill over and it is bulky too.
The face powder is a loose powder just like you would get the loose setting powders/mineral powders from various brands in the market. We have the Lakme Rose Powder and this one works on similar lines. It is light pink in color. It was hard for me to understand which shade to pick up so I picked up this and one more different shade which I shall review in future.
The powder is very smooth and not chalky at all. It does not give any coverage to be honest, just a tiny bit so do not expect a lot from it. It can be used to set your foundation or BB cream and does a good job in that department. It is recommended to use the sponge and dab it on your face which you can but I prefer using a powder brush to blend it evenly over my face. The powder is decent enough to control oil on the face. It smells lovely like rose water. You need to drop the powder into the lid when you want to use and then using your brush spread it evenly on the face. So it may get a bit messy but that is ok with me. It controls the oil on your face upto 3 hours or so indoors about outdoors I cannot tell in summers especially when you sweat a lot. It claims to have sunscreen but the content is not mentioned strangely but it is advisable to use a sunscreen anyways. In my face of the day (FOTD) I have just used a tiny amount of foundation and dabbed this powder all over my face. Used a coral blush and some lip gloss. Overall its a decent product for the price I conclude.
Easily available here in Mumbai and Chennai.
Comes with a sponge applicator.
Smells lovely like rose water.
Packaging is decent.
Key ingredients mentioned.
The not so Good:
May get a bit messy as you have to drop the powder in the lid to apply.
Sunscreen is mentioned but not the content.
Availability may be an issue although it is available here.
May be a problem to carry while travelling as it is a bit bulky and the powder may spill over.
For the price it is an excellent option to give a try. You cannot compare the powder with huge brands. Its main purpose is to mattify the skin and to set any foundation or BB cream you may be wearing. I highly recommend everyone to try this.
