Elle 18 Color Pops Lipstick in Candy Kiss - Review, Swatches, LOTD and FOTD
I hope you all are doing great and in the pink of health. Lol. This is how I was thought to write a letter in my school days. Of course time has changed so has our vocabulary. Anyhow what I meant to say that since summer is here I am loving this lovely pink lipstick from Elle 18. For those who are not aware Elle 18 is owned by Hindustan Unilever Limited and so is Lakme. In India the brand Elle 18 has always been associated with make up targeted more specifically towards teenagers hoewever that does not mean that others cannot use it. Currently it is the most affordable brand in India. The shade I shall be reviewing today is perfect for summers and is called Candy Kiss in no.40. Let us find out more about this shade in my review...
Ingredients: Not mentioned except that it contains Cocoa butter.
The packaging of the lipstick as I have mentioned many a times in my reviews before is just the same. It comes in a black plastic bullet. The body is black and there is an animated character on the tube which makes it look interesting. The cap does not click lock but does not come off easily as well, I have traveled with it and never had any problems.Overall decent packaging for the price, nothing much to complain about.
The lipstick has a clear lip balm located in the centre and the lipstick is based around it as seen in the picture. The shade can be described as a lovely bright light bubble gum pink color, looks muted in the swatches. It has some blue undertones to it barely contains any shimmer. If you have pigmented lips the color may show up a little less bright but still very pretty and wearable. The lip balm in the centre makes the lipstick glide smoothly on the lips. It also makes it a bit less saturated and sheer which means you will have swipe it multiple times on the lips to get the desired opaqueness. To be honest I do not mind doing that . They are light weight on the lips and feel nice. They have a bubble gum kind of taste and smell which is not bad in my opinion but could be an issue to those with sensitive noses or those who do not prefer fragrance in their make up. Lasting wise it is pretty average and may last as long as you do not lick it or have a meal in between. After a meal you will have to reapply as it will not show up on the lips at all. It does not stain the lips at all. This shade will suit fair to medium skin tones the most. This lipstick has a tendency to melt hence you need to store it in a cool dark place.
Easily available everywhere.
Moisturizing and glides smoothly on the lips.
Lovely bright pink color perfect for summers.
Barely has shimmer.
Decent and travel friendly packaging.
The not so Good:
Tendency to melt.
Complete ingredients list missing.
Lasting power is not good enough.
If you are looking for a lovely pink lipstick for summer which is bright and not over the top you should definitely check this lipstick out. For 100 bucks you cannot ask for more. Hence I recommend everyone to try this shade.
