AVON Simply Pretty Color Bliss Lipstick in TRUE ROSE.
Hope you had a great weekend and are enjoying the rains. My today's review is from a brand which needs no introduction. Yes I am talking about Avon. I have been using Avon products since 2007 and I like their stuff.Of course there are some duds too. The lipstick I shall review today is called TRUE ROSE. Let's see how this lipstick fares in my review..
- Natural moisture complex with jojoba oil, soyabean oil and rice bran oil that help lips retain moisture.
- Contains Vitamin E
Price: Rs. 169/- for 4ml/g but you can get it on a sale or special offer for even less.
What does Avon say: Enjoy medium to full color while giving your lips extra moisturizing care! Now with added moisturizing complex, a blend of nourishing natural ingredients, that protects lips while keeping it soft, supple and moisturized.Feels light and comfortable on lips.
The lipstick comes in a hot pink plastic tube which is their newer packaging. The name of the brand is mentioned on the tube along with the expiry date. The name of the shade and other details are mentioned at the bottom of the tube. The cap click locks and you will never ever have an issue with the cap opening up or getting loose. Hence it is travel friendly. The lipstick is sealed with a plastic cover which if taken off won't leave you with any other information other than the brand name and the expiry date.
The lipstick is a nice pink color with purple tones to it. But it does look more pink in natural sunlight and may look a bit pinky purple in photos. The lipstick contains very finely milled shimmer which will not bother your lips at all. In fact it gives the lipstick a bit of a metallic look which I like. Now by metallic I mean it does highlight the centre of your lower lip when it hits the light which I quite like. The lipstick does require more than two applications to be opaque on the lips. The lipstick is very moisturizing on application but may tend to get a bit dry as time passes. But once you rub your lips it seems ok. Hence it is advisable to moisturize and prep your lips before hand but I don't find it a major con because however moisturizing the lipstick may be if you have chapped lips it will surely show through your lipstick. The lipstick does not settle into the fine lines of the lips nor does it bleed outside the lips. The lipstick has a faint smell which is hard to describe but tolerable. The lipstick lasting power is good but not that great, just like any other normal lipstick. It lasts for 3 hours and does not stain the lips.

Avon does not test on animals.
Contains Vitamin E.
Does not settle in fine lines of the lips.
Does not stain the lips.
The not so Good:
Only available through an Avon representative or online.
Lasting power could have been better.
Smell may or may not be liked by all.
Complete ingredient list not mentioned like most brands.
Requires multiple swipe to show its opaqueness on lips.
Overall I find the Avon Simply Pretty Lipsticks a good bargain for a lipstick lover like me. There are 20 shades to choose from and I am sure there is atleast one shade for everyone. I recommend this lipstick to all for the price.
I hope you found my review helpful. Please feel free to leave a comment I love reading them.
Thank you for your time.
