LOTUS PURE COLOR LIPSTICK CARNATION

Finally the weekend is here!!!!  I am back yet again with a lipstick review. The lipstick I will be reviewing today is Lotus Pure Color Lipstick in no 640 - CARNATION. I just love lipsticks and have tonnes of them. Lotus is a brand known to all of us. It is a leading brand cosmetic company dealing with skincare and make up. It is an 100% vegetarian brand.

Ingredients: It says enriched with the botanical extracts of Aloe Vera and Jojoba. Hmmmm sounds good to me!!

Price: Rs.245/- for 4.2 gms - You might get a discount if purchased online.

What does Lotus cosmetics say about their lipstick: PURE COLOUR is a 100% vegetarian range of  moisturizing lip colors available in 22 rich, sophisticated shades including pinks, peaches and nutty browns.

The lipstick comes in a nice silver and  gold packaging. It does not look cheap in my opinion.It can be best described as a coral shade. Since I was confused about what coral means I checked Wikipedia which says that coral is a pinkish orange color and I could not agree more. The lipstick is a pinkish orange color in the tube but on my lips it shows more as a bright orange color. Since I have fair to medium skin tone, it instantly brightens my face.Those who don't wear bright lip colors may find this shade intimidating. It also has a nice floral scent.

 I  like this shade as its hard to find a budget lipstick in a similar color. The lipstick can go outside your natural lip line since it is a creamy lipstick, hence it is best to use a lip liner so that it does not budge. I am not sure which lip liner to use and generally I am not a lip liner fan hence I have not bothered to find out yet. If you know of any do let me know.

The lipstick stays on the lips for 2 to 3 hours and leaves a nice orange tint on the lips. Although the lipstick glides smoothly on the lips and claims that it is moisturizing, I found it a bit drying after an hour of application. Also when I tried using a lip brush to apply the lipstick, the shade was not spreading evenly hence I used my finger for the color to set in. I would suggest that one should exfoliate and moisturize their lips before applying the lipstick.

Drying on the lips.
Uneven application.
May or may not suit dusky beauties

My final say: It is a nice lipstick and worth purchasing. It is 100% vegetarian and so budget friendly. I'm not sure if it would suit dark skin tones. I may not purchase this lipstick if I find something better than this.
