VLCC Daily Protect Lip Balm in Cherry Review and Swatches
Hi everyone,
A lip balm is a must for everyone whether men or women. While men have limited options we have choices by the dozen.. Lol.. At one time I was a lip balm hoarder every trip to the mall and I would come back with one or two because I wanted them all... Hehe.. Many of you women might relate to this, wouldn't you? So coming back to today's review I shall review the VLCC Lip Balm in Cherry. Yes VLCC does make lip balms. Let us find out more about this in my review today...
Ingredients and what the brand says about the product:
Price: Rs.56/- for 4g - I had got it on a introductory price of Rs. 49/-
Availability: Available across all beauty supply stores and online on Purplle.com
The lip balm comes in a sealed packaging which needs to be torn off to get the lip balm off. I would say good as you know then noone has messed around with it.The body is white in color with the logo printed and the picture of a cherry on it. The cap shuts well and I would not say it is travel friendly as it gets messy. So thumbs down on that although it will not open in the handbag.
The first thing I noticed about the lip balm that it melts.. Grrr.. So from day one that I opened this one it melted one so the refrigerator is its permanent house now. The texture of the lip balm is smooth but not in comparison to baby lips if you may have tried. The lip balm as the name suggests is a tinted light orangey red color and shows up sheer on my pigmented lips. It does moisturize the lips but I feel is not enough and just about ok I would say. I generally apply it in the night before sleeping and next morning I do feel the softness on the lips. The nice part is that it contains SPF 15 which is a must with every lip balm as lips are also easily affected by sun exposure. One would need to apply this every few hours to maintain the softness of the lips but because of its texture it may have a tendency to go outside the lips. I did find the application streaky :/ I wish the formula changes in future. Overall an OK lip balm nothing so impressive.
The Good:
Easily available even online.
Very affordable.
Does moisturize the lips.
Contains SPF 15.
Decent packaging.
The not so Good:
Melts, melts, melts.
Goes on streaky on the lips.
May get outside the lips because of its thin texture.
Complete ingredient list missing.
Not travel friendly as it gets messy.
Rating: 2.8/5
In conclusion I would say that this is an OK lip balm not a must have because of its melting properties I wish the formula changes because then it would be the most affordable lip balm in the market.I would not recommend it but you may give it a try if you wish.

ReplyDeletesuch a dud.. A big NO for this
ReplyDeleteI also had the melting issues with lip balms so much so by the time I wanted to blog, they were totally wrecked. Still, vlcc is nice; the color, glow, shine and its fruity content.
ReplyDeleteOoppss...gonna skip it :(
ReplyDeleteSad natasha, the lip balm is not up to the mark.. Thankfully I never tried..
